Christ
the King
Church is a community of faithful
Christian believers of all ages in the Greater Baltimore Area. The church was
founded in April, 1996, and is part of the
Anglican Church in America, a branch of the world-wide Traditional Anglican Communion. Our founding rector, Rev. Edward V. Meeks, is joined on the clergy staff by the Rev. Melvin “Bud” Reick, the Rev. John Worgul,
and the Rev. Deacon Robert Rupp.
Christ the King represents the convergence of
the Liturgical/Sacramental, the Evangelical and the Charismatic streams of Christianity, and we are
committed to the profession and practice of biblical and historic orthodoxy.
From our founding in April of 1996 until September of 2003, we worshipped in a rented
facility in the Towson area. During that time we were engaged in an extensive search
for land on which to build a new church building. That search led us to purchase a six
acre property on Hart Road in Towson that for many years had functioned as both a riding
academy and boarding stable for horses. On September 20, 2003 we dedicated and
consecrated our beautiful new church building to the glory of God.
Our Sunday worship
features both contemporary praise songs and traditional hymns, coupled with the
forthright preaching of the Word of God, all in the context of the celebration
and reception of the Holy Eucharist. We would be honored to have you visit and
worship with us this Sunday.
